As 2018 draws to a close, I’ve been looking back at everything that happened this year. I left my job at the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust (loved it there!) for a position as a historic preservation urban planner that I love even more. I also got married (in a historic building of course–sneak peek below!) and traveled to dozen states including Utah, Indiana, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Rhode Island, California, and Oregon.
Without further ado, here are the reader favorites. The top five posts from 2018:
1. Frank Lloyd Wright’s Bootleg Houses
2. The Classic Chicago Three-Flat
3. The Surprising Interior of the Brewster Apartment Building
4. The House of Tomorrow Today
5. A Piece of Paris in Chicago (did you see the new Harry Potter movie? Loved seeing the Paris Ministry of Magic–it was all art nouveau, just like Paris’s metro stations!)
Finally, a year round-up would’t be complete without my best nine from Instagram (if you aren’t already, follow me here!):
Locations, left to right and top to bottom: Gold Coast, Chicago; Hyde Part, Chicago; Indiana Dunes; Austin, TX; Oak Park, IL; Gold Coast, Chicago; Utah; Oak Park, IL; the Robie House, Hyde Park, Chicago.
Thanks for following along and Happy New Year!
Looking back a little farther: Best of 2017 and Best of 2016.
Wedding sneak peek (we got married at the beautiful Timberline Lodge, which I featured on my blog, here!).
Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio (original post here).
My favorites were the New England ones!!
